The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams will replace the daily Suprabhata Seva by Andal Tiruppavai at the main temple in Tirumala from December 17. It will continue till January 14, 2017. The change in the daily programme coincides with the advent of Dhanurmasam.
Tiruppavai to replace Suprabhata Seva
“Deities wake up early in the morning during the holy month of Dhanurmasa. They perform special prayers to Sri Maha Vishnu during the auspicious period of ‘Brahm Muhurta’, which is 90 minutes before sunrise,” said a TTD statement here on Wednesday. During this month devotees offer prayers to the Lord early in the morning. Dhanurmasa is considered a special month for performing the pooja of Sri Maha Vishnu. “Worshipping Lord Vishnu, who is believed to be none other than Lord Venkateswara in Kaliyuga, on a single day during this auspicious period is equal to worshipping Lord Vishnu with devotion for 1000 years,” the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams said.
